Constitution and ByLaws - From 1998 to 2021 - History

History   Summary of Offices, etc

Mililani Fil-Am Baptist Church is established as an abiding entity through its Constitution and Bylaws, which are affirmed in the light of Holy Scripture to govern the body in an orderly manner.  These foundational principles are ordained to preserve the liberties of each individual member while providing a formal plan for worship and service under the lordship of Jesus Christ.   As a covenantal community, members enter into a formal agreement to sustain the church's doctrine and discipline, utilizing the Bible as their supreme authority and only rule of faith.   This governing framework ensures the church remains a steadfast institution, with the current 2021 edition formally superseding all previous rules to guide the fellowship's ongoing mission.

Document-Specific Content
The "CHURCH BYLAWS.pdf" (Member's Handbook) is the most comprehensive source, containing sections not found in the other two standalone bylaws documents:
  • Church History: Details the humble beginnings of the congregation starting in 1991, its birth as a mission in 1994, and its official constitution as Mililani Fil-Am Baptist Church on September 12, 1998.
  • Financial Data: Explains the church's reliance on tithes and offerings and its goal of financial independence.
  • 11-Point Doctrinal Statement: Provides a detailed breakdown of beliefs regarding the Bible, the Trinity, Salvation, and the Second Coming.
  • Welcome Message: Includes a personal "Mabuhay!" greeting from Pastor Sam R. Evangelista.
Procedural Note on Changes
All three documents stipulate that amendments to the Constitution require a two-thirds vote of members present at a regular business meeting, following written presentation at a previous meeting and publication in the Sunday bulletin for two consecutive weeks. Similarly, the 2021 edition explicitly states that it "abolishes, supersedes and takes the place of any constitution, rules, and bylaws and amendments that preceded it".
