YOUTH INTERN

The Youth and Young adult Intern is vital to the overall educational mission of Mililani Fil-Am Baptist Church by ensuring quality programs and mentoring for youth in grades 6-12 and Young Adults.  The role of the Youth Leader is to build a sense of community within the youth and young adult of the church that provides an opportunity for both spiritual and social development.  The Youth Intern is an integral part of the staff and, along with the Youth Committee, reports directly to the Pastor or as agreed by the congregation.   

Position:   Youth and Young Adult  Intern / Part-Time

Job Description: 

  1. Actively lead the youth program at Mililani Fil-Am Baptist Church and provide guidance and teaching for its members especially for Sunday School and Midweek discipleship and missions and outreach
  2. Structure and develop the program that best fits Mililani Fil-Am Baptist Church 
  3. Develop leaders/youth sponsors that can help carry the task of discipling and mentoring youth and young adults.  
  4. Build strong relationships with the youth and their families

Qualifications: The candidate must have: 

  1. A personal commitment to Christ and Christian Education and support the Southern Baptist faith tradition
  2. Must have a passion for inspiring youth and building relationships and a community of faith
  3. Willingness to learn, to be mentored, and at the same time have the willingness and self-drive

Salary and Benefits:

  1. Flexible work schedule of 15 hours per week
  2. The starting salary is between 750.00 per month at the rate of 12.5$ / hour.   
  3. Benefits include: 
    1. Work-related mileage at the IRS allowed rate no more than $300.00
    2. Paid vacation and national holidays 

Supervisor: The Pastor.  In the absence of the Pastor, the Moderator or those elected by the body shall stand as supervisor of the Youth Intern.
